Ceramics: How its made

Pottery making is a traditional Nepali craft which has been passed down from generations. Found mainly in Thimi, Bhaktapur, Hand thrown pottery making is an essential industry in the area which has seen recent decrease due competition with mass machine produced ceramics.   Using mostly red clay and wood fired kilns to create everyday objects such as water carriers and prayer pots.
Our ceramics are thoughtfully designed by us and collaborate with an artist whose is indigenous to the land and craft.  We work very closely in experimenting and ensuring their generational skills and talents are portrayed through our designs. Using white and red clay found in Nepal, our ceramic pieces have a hand made touch. Each piece is unique with its own characteristics.
